on the 11th and 12th of june the king of the groms surf competition was held in rest bay. it was a sloppy 1-2 foot on the saturday.

surfed peaks last weekend, it was only about 2 foot but worth the walk. great to surf with the sun out and some east winds for a change! i’ve got a nice tan line around my neck and dad’s got a nice steak face from filming. was good to meet up with all my gower mates for a surf, Nathaniel, Josh, Will and my cousins.

on the 28th of may I competed in the Saltrock UKPST event in croyde. i’ve never surfed croyde before and was hoping for some good surf but it was really windy and messy the whole weekend. we got down there on friday so I could have a surf before the contest, it was choppy and only about 2 foot but the sun was out, it was just like Southerndown

the surfs been pretty poor over the past week or so, it’s been westerly the whole time and hardly any swell, even the tides have been wrong for me. the tides are so important here, it can go from three foot to zero foot when the tide turns to go out. I’ve surfed quite a bit though, trying to make the most of it and even had one or two fun ones.

the Welsh Championships were held last weeked at freshwater west in pembroke, we got down to freshwest around 8:00am on the saturday, it’s a 1:30 hour drive so i had to wake up at 6:00am! the waves were really small on saturday morning but picked up to a solid 3foot by the afternoon, and the sun was out!
